August 2017

We just got a new dog named blue, and he is amazing.  Blue and Tank play all day and Blue loves to follow Tank around wherever he goes. It is so cute!  The farm is exploding with color right now. Everything in the yard looks amazing.  It gets better and better out here every year. We put a new drip system in to help us conserve water and make sure we can have all of these plants out here in the desert.  It has been a life saver, no more sprinklers or moving hoses around all day.

Farm update Sept. 2016

Our Farm is totally out of control amazing right now! Everything is in full bloom and our garden is exploding with fresh produce! So different than when we moved out here to the desert.  It is our own little plot of paradise. My mom picked a bushel of pears off our tree and the orchard is thriving! We recently planted new rows of raspberries that our very dear friend Tom gave us!  I can’t wait for them to start producing.

Our Catahoula hound, Tank, spends his days running as fast as he can through the green gardens and the sprinklers.  Our little goats gallop up and down the fields chasing after us for treats and head rubs. The end of summer has been good to us. Things have cooled down just a little bit and all I want to do is hang around outside throwing the ball for Tank and talking with my family.  I love it.

What a crazy year! It was a rough go.  My Dad was very sick this year and we lost my wonderful Grandfather. Things have not slowed down one bit though! We have been making soap and keeping up with the new farm.

We planted lots and lots of trees this year and two huge gardens. My Mom was able to get some chicks to hatch we have Swedish Flower Hens, Isbar, and Giant Bielefelder chickens. Our Kune Kune pig Luna had a beautiful batch of piglets, we just love them.  It is almost time for us to get ready for our goats to start kidding after the new year.

Just in time for Thanksgiving we were able to remodel the kitchen so we could fit the whole family and make enough dinner for everyone, it was so wonderful to have everyone here and have my dad feeling better to celebrate as a family.

The snow is starting to come down thick as I write this quick update!

I want to thank all of our wonderful customers for supporting us this year!

Fall Fun!

We brought an 8N ford tractor home , it runs and will be a fun winter project to restore. We will certainly put it to work here on our little farm!  We have opened the pickles finally after weeks and weeks of having to wait and they are AMAZING! So garlicky and delicious.  I think we could all sit down and eat and entire jar (my favorite part is the whole cloves of pickled garlic, I pick all of them out to eat. – Kylee).  It is that time of the year again! We can dry Honey Crisp apples and make warm apple crisp, both are so delicious! Our garden is still going strong and we have been getting fabulous tomatoes!

First Day of Autumn

It is the first day of Fall!  we have had so much fun making beautiful round, pumpkin beer soap for the fall market.  Pumpkin is such a popular and beautiful scent! Especially around this time of year!  Our garden is still looking lovely and we have some very cool Cinderella pumpkins with  one growing in the apple tree!

It has been a whirl wind of activity around here!  Canning green and yellow beans, peaches, tomatoes, and pickles from the garden.  The garden looks so amazing we have been getting so much beautiful produce! We took a trip to Tooele to pick up wonderful old mountain farm Vinny, he was out on Lease.  The Farmer’s Market has been keeping us very busy every Saturday, it is so much fun!

We also have a NEW Carrot Soap it has Carrot Essential oil,   1/2 farm fresh goat milk, 1/2  organic carrot juice, carrot powder, raw honey, and Redmond clay, all wonderful things for skin! It will be ready to go in a few weeks.  We are super excited for this soap.

Around the Farm

Around the farm this weekend we are busy getting ready for winter.  We made plum jam, it is so yummy! We also cleaned up one million leaves, which the goats enjoyed snacking on! We made a new batch of Dragon’s Blood and some wonderful Sandalwood.  A new soap will be added to our website soon, Lemon Drop, this lemony, sweet wonderful smell reminds me of old fashion Lemon Drop Candy.  Kylee and Shawnie (my darling niece) helped me work on a new Christmas soap maybe we will call it Winter Mint or something along that line. We did a double swirl of red and green it was so fun! Michelle made me a darling sunflower out of a old car fan, very clever, it is just as cute as can be out there in the garden.

July updates

Here we are nearing the end of July already! Our garden is doing awesome, the tomato plants are getting huge (5ft tall!) and our garlic is almost ready to harvest.  We have picked some of the garlic and they are delicious!  We have a new soap scent that will be ready in about two weeks.  It is called Sweet Olive and it is so yummy!   We have been at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market every weekend since it has started. We have been having so much fun!  It is so great to see all the familiar faces and tons of new ones!   We want to thank everyone that has come to see us so far!  Now onto some pictures!
